A free Excel tool that turns one month of DHIS2 reproductive health data into quality checks, performance scores and corrective action prompts.
Routine reproductive health data is collected every month, and most teams still review it informally: someone eyeballs a table and flags the obvious outliers. There is no reproducible process, so issues that should trigger a supervisory visit or a data correction get missed, and facilities that consistently underperform go unaddressed because nobody has time to run the analysis by hand. This tool makes that monthly review structured.

What it does
Completeness and reporting checks
Missing required values, reporting status, and zero-only reporting are flagged automatically, so the gaps that quietly distort a district total surface before the total is used.
Cross-indicator consistency
ANC1 against LLIN, deliveries against AMTSL, and family planning method-sum checks. Indicators that should move together are compared, and the ones that do not are flagged.
Clinical rate checks
Caesarean section rate, a PNC under 48h proxy, new acceptor comparison and LARC analysis, computed for every facility rather than for the district in aggregate.
A score, not just a list
The tool produces an overall data quality score plus a performance score and classification, which is what turns a spreadsheet of flags into something a review meeting can act on.
Facility-level issue summaries
Each facility gets its own summary of what is wrong, so a supervisor arrives at a visit already knowing what to ask about.
A review aid, not a validation authority
It does not replace national DHIS2 validation rules, official programme guidance, or supervisory judgement. It identifies what needs verification and follow-up; the judgement stays with you.
How to use it

Export one month of aggregate facility data for your reproductive health indicators from the DHIS2 Data Visualisation app.

Load that export into the tool. There are no formulas to write.

Read the data quality score, the performance score and classification, and the facility-level issue summaries.

Work through the corrective action prompts to decide which facilities need a data correction or a supervisory visit.
